My interest in beekeeping stems from the invasion of my Eastern Screech Owl house by a little swarm of honeybees in May 2012.  I figured beekeeping would be an interesting empty-nest project and that it would be cool to build some hives and tend bees.

Two years later and two Warre hives later, my husband and I hived two packages of honeybees from  BeeWeaver Apiaries.
