we have a few of these on one side of our house. Have you noticed that when the flowers begin to open and when they fade the color inclines toward purple?
Haiku-o-rama! Well done, Linda, though not surprised…
Is it the Barbie Doll pink that you object to? I’ve known others who really didn’t care for rock rose. It is very pink. I love its resiliency and toughness–and the too pink blooms. 🙂
I think I’ve figured it out. I like Roseate Spoonbills and saltmarsh mallows. I’m quite fond of various pink Agalinis, and of course I like pink cactus blooms. The thing is, the pink of the rock rose reminds me of the pink cupcake frosting and pink bakery cake frosting I grew up with. It always was that in-your-face pink, and there usually was so much of it it made me gag. Now, when I see that color, my response is pretty much the same!
Beautiful. It’s such a special time of year, isn’t it? Soon, we’ll have frost and all the plants will collapse. Enjoying the last days of the growing season…
So weird, I could have sword I commented on this post last week… Maybe I’m having the same issues with comments not sticking, that you did for a while? Anyway, I’m not very good at haiku, but the gist of my thought was that that photo made me smile. 🙂
Golden tones echo
From partakers to the bloom
Sweet poem and pic

When I downloaded the photo, I was tickled, but it shouted to me: 5-7-5! That is, if a haiku can shout…)

Nicely done! Even though this flower doesn’t appeal to me, I still can praise it for its function!
an unfavored bloom
an abundance of color
sweetness abounding

Even in our droughty/warm conditions, it’s been a gorgeous fall. Our first frost is a long way off…:)

I’ve given up figuring out commenting issues–if it works, great, if not, I hope the writer knows I’m reading.
I’m not great at haiku, either, but this was a fun and obvious one!
